Dick's Classic Garage

Dick’s Classic Garage was located in San Marcos, Texas. It maintained an inventory of over 80 classic cars including Duesenberg, Auburn, Cord and rare and historical antique automobiles. Following the 2018 death of its founder, Richard “Dick” Burdick, the museum transitioned into a private, nonprofit grant-making foundation and the collection was sold at auction. Distracting background items have been removed.

This 1918 Milburn Electric Model 27 Brougham had a 76 volt DC motor, four forward speeds and two reverse, a top speed of 30 mph and a range of 100 miles, and sold for $1450 ($27,000 in today’s currency). The Milburn was popular with President Woodrow Wilson who drove his Milburn around the White House grounds. I did this photo at Dick’s Classic Garage just before the Milburn was shipped to RM Sotheby’s auction where it sold for $63,250. Everything old is new again. www.russmoorephotography.com.
