Innovation Tower in Austin TX

This is a rear view of the new Innovation Tower. With 16 floors and an attractive curved glass front facade it is a great addition to downtown Austin. I was at UT Hospital (next door) so I did this shot from a parking garage. I did not anticipate this photo opportunity so regardless of the wrong time of day and lacking my preferred equipment I tried to do it justice. Hope to return later for the front view.

The Independent and Google buildings

Architecture dates from 10,000 BCE when people stopped living in caves and sought better shelters. The Independent, left, and Google, right, are recent additions to Austin. Although they represent totally different visions they show the innovations and design possible today.

Austin Balconies

This image almost makes me dizzy. This is one of the residential buildings in downtown Austin which has seven rows of balconies and all of them expensive. There are actually two people in this image but they are somewhat challenging to see. I will not be moving anytime soon.

The Independent Condominium Tower In Austin

At 58 stores tall the “Independent”condominium tower is the tallest residential building in Texas. With its offset floors it is sometimes called the Jenga Tower. Its windowed exterior changes color with the time of day. This shot was done after sunset so warm street lighting now dominates it appearance.

Austin Centre

Austin Centre features a large atrium in the center with offices on one side and an Omni hotel on the other. Took this image of the business side while the hotel elevator was descending. Used a Laowa 11mm.

Barton Creek Mall has many escalators but only one is bathed in full sunlight. I could have made the shadow areas of equal brightness but I prefer this look.

Two of Austin's numerous residential buildings seen as you cross the First Street bridge. The 36 floor Ashton is front left and the 56 floor Austonian is behind. On the right is the 100 Congress office building. The Austonian's condos range from 1-5 million.
