  • Glass Camera

    Glass Camera

I told my daughter I was needing to downsize my photo equipment because I was getting older and my equipment was getting heavier. Next visit she gave me a tiny little glass camera. To provide a size comparison I put it on a field of pennies and dimes. Now all I need is a companion tiny tripod.

  • French Horn with flower

    French Horn with flower

I created several Music Program Covers following the often vague suggestions of the organization or conductor. After much indecision and lack of agreement they would finally conclude with, “Well, you know what we mean”. This one ended with “Why don’t you put a flower on something”.

  • Saxophone Landscape

    Saxophone Landscape

What do you do when you get a beat-up alto saxophone for $5. You take a picture of it before it goes in the trash. This one had a hard life. The black & white version makes it look better than it was.

This image was created for a concert program.

  • Victoria's Secret

    Victoria's Secret

Some things I routinely shot for companies when I was in business.

  • Pocket Trumpet.

    Pocket Trumpet.

A normal length trumpet with the tubing wrapped in a compact form. A musician friend used to carry this in his backpack while serving in Iraq so he could practice when possible.

  • Manual can opener closeup.

    Manual can opener closeup.

When I can't get outdoors I shoot things around my apartment.

  • Colt 1903 .32 Automatic

    Colt 1903 .32 Automatic

I had a toy version of this gun when I was very young. World War ll pilots often carried this pistol because it was so compact. Al Capone, Clyde Barrow, John Dillinger, and Willie Sutton all owned one, and they appeared in numerous old gangster movies. I bought this one to photograph but never fired it...wished I would have kept it now.

Just a fun shot. I did this one for a Mexican train domino Meetup group in Austin.

  • .22, 9mm, .45, and .50 caliber comparisons.

    .22, 9mm, .45, and .50 caliber comparisons.

Shot to demonstrate the differences in cartridge sizes. The large .50 caliber shells are about 5 & 1/2 inches tall and devastating in their power.

  • Kanstul Bass Trombone valves.

    Kanstul Bass Trombone valves.

This was my bass trombone. Unfortunately the valves could not improve my playing ability or talent.

  • American flag reflected in droplet hanging from the eye of a needle.

American flag reflected in droplet hanging from the eye of a needle.

A fun shot but really tedious to make.

I really like the colors in this vase.

  • Cocked Hammer on .32 revolver.

    Cocked Hammer on .32 revolver.

This was my father's 100 year old S&W .32 revolver that still worked flawlessly.

  • Bulbman

    Bulbman

This was a blend of a mannequin head and a light bulb done entirely in camera on film back in the 80's.

  • Smith & Wesson Model 686. A seven shot .357 revolver.

Smith & Wesson Model 686. A seven shot .357 revolver.

Sometimes I like to do close-ups of defining features. Seven shot cylinders are not too common as many owners opt for the hight capacity magazines of automatics.
